Nagal marches into semifinals, meets Lorenzi

SAVANNAH, MAY 05,
Davis Cupper Sumit Nagal continued his remarkable run to reach the semifinals of the $54,160 Challenger with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over third seed Corentin Moutet of France.
Nagal will face second seed Paolo Lorenzi of Italy in the last four.
In the ITF women’s event in Antalya (Turkey), sixth seed Jennifer Luikham fought past Sapfo Sakellaridi of Greece 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-3 in a battle of wits that lasted three hours and 10 minutes. She set up a final against Indy de Vroome of the Netherlands.
In the doubles final, however, top seeds Jennifer and Ramu Ueda of Japan were beaten 7-5, 5-7, [10-6] by fourth seeds Vanda Lukacs and Manca Pislak.
In the $25,000 ITF women’s event in Namangan (Uzbekistan), Rutuja Bhosale won the doubles title in partnership with Eudice Wong Chong of Hong Kong. It was the 10th career doubles title for Rutuja, and the first of the season.
In the Challenger in Mexico, second seeds Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Purav Raja made the semifinals without dropping a set.
In the ITF men’s Futures in Santa Margherita Di Pula (Italy), Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Tuna Altuna of Turkey lost 3-6, 6-4, [10-0] in the final to the top seeds Alexander Merino and Manuel Pena Lopez.
