“February 14 marks two years of the dreaded Pulwama terror attack when 40 valiant Indian soldiers were martyred after a suicide bomber rammed an IED-laden vehicle into the security convoy carrying them. We will always remain indebted for their sacrifice in the line of the duty,” said Chib, addressing one of the gatherings in the winter capital.
“Our security forces have shown each and every time that they are fully capable of protecting our motherland. The 40 valiant soldiers who laid down their lives in Pulwama attack were a class apart who devoted their lives to serving the country and protecting our nation. India will never forget their martyrdom,” said Chib. “Their bravery will continue to inspire generations,” he added.
Chib also said that the security forces be given free hand to deal with anti-national elements. “There is an imperative need to ensure that security forces are given free hand to deal strictly with the anti-national elements so as to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the face of this great nation,” he added.
Chib said that it is the duty of every fellow countryman to stand the families of the soldiers who have laid down their lives for the nation. “We, as a nation, continue to stand with the families of the martyrs and will always stand with them, for this nation owes them,” he added.
