An inter-departmental symposium was organized by the Co-curricular Committee of MIER College to celebrate National Education Day. The theme of the symposium was “Professional Ethics”. Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Mool Raj, HoD PG, Dr. Rohnika, HoDUG departments of the college along with the faculty and students attended the event. Dr. Bharti Tandon, Assistant Professor PG Department and Mrs. Angela Gadroo, Assistant Professor UG Department were the honorable judges.
Dr. Reeta Dwivedi, Convener Co-curricular Committee MIER College extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, judges, participants and the audience. About 14 students from the UG and PG Department participated in the symposium. Mr. AshitToppo from B.Ed. semester 1st, Ms. Anjeshri from B.Ed semester 1st and Ms. Naeema from M.A. Education semester 1st were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rdprize winners by the judges.
The Chief Guest, in his address, said that professional ethics is a code of conduct applicable to different professions and is set up by the expert members of such profession or professional organizations. It is considered as accepted standards of personal and professional behavior, values, and guiding principles. He further added that professional ethics for teachers include: mutual respect, dignity of teaching, accountability and develop collegiality.
Mrs. Ruchika Kapoor, Co-convener Co-curricular Committee presented a formal vote of thanks. The programme was ably conducted by Ms. Shakshi Pathak, a student of M. Ed semester 1st.
