National Health Mission Employees Association, Jammu while addressing a press conference said that they have been employed by the Government under centrally sponsored national Health Mission on contractual basis which includes Doctors Para- Medics and Management in remotest areas of the State for the last 10 years. While addressing; the press Sh. Rohit Seth said that most of the employees working under NHM have crossed the upper age limit for applying for any Govt. posts and we have been pleading their case before the concerned authorities from many years requesting for regularizing services and putting them under proper grade and cadre.
The leader while addressing the press said that despite making assurances and issuance of minutes of the meeting held with the then Hon’ble Minister no formal orders were issued by the authorities for more than a year. “we were forced to go for a peaceful pen down strike again so as to awaken the Authorities and after which we were assured by the Hon’ble Governor of J&K that our genuine demands are under consideration and will be fulfilled in a proper manner after which we called off the strike”, they added.
The leader appealed and urged the Governor of J&K to look into the rightful demands of NHM employees and save them and their families from sufferings and starvation by way of issuing orders for revoking their termination orders and conceding the genuine demands on utmost human grounds. Among others who spoke includes Dr. Arun, Arvind, Afzal, Rajinder Sharma and others and jointly appealed the Hon’ble Governor to restore rightful justice to the employees of NHM on the same analogy as has been done to other similar employees in other districts of the State.
