Natrang celebrated its 36th foundation day here this evening with the presentation of William Shakespeare’s world famous play ‘Twelfth Night’ under the direction of Aarushi Thakur Rana at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. Danesh Rana, Inspector General of Police, Armed was the chief guest on the occasion.
In last 35 years Natrang through the selfless contribution of thousands of its associates, brought the J&K theatre to the National and International limelight and its highly acclaimed plays vibrated the theatre world and proudly travelled the whole length and breadth of the country and also crossed the boundaries of India as well and won appreciation in Russia, Germany, U.K., Singapore, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, and UAE and thus established a globally acknowledged brand called NATRANG.
This organization has been highly instrumental in giving a new cultural and intellectual identity to this part of the country and revolutionized the cultural life of the place through its out of the world initiatives.
The actors who mesmerized the audiences with their marvellous acting included Gauri Thakur as Viola, Moses Marton as Sebastian, Goutam Sharma as Orsino, Vrinda Sharma as Olivia, Abhi Bargotra as Andrew, Gautam Kumar as Sir Tobey, Brijesh Avtar Sharma as Mario, Gopi Sharma as Fool, Mohit Kaul as Curio, Sunny Mujjoo as Captian, Sanket Bhagat as Kallu, Sushant Singh Charak as Tallu, Mahikshit Singh Langeh as Malvolio, Aadesh Dhar, Akash Bhat, Aafaque Khan, Shivam Dutta and Rahul Gupta as Guards. The lights of the play was designed and executed by Shivam Singh.
The sound was looked after by Bhisham Gupta and Lokesh Chander.
The show was presented by Sumeet Sharma and Neeraj Kant and the hall management was looked after by Mohd. Yaseen, Ankush Lakhnotra, Rahul Singh, Shivam Sharma, Vanshika Gupta, Manoj Kumar, Vanshika Gupta, Ashley Mehta, Meenakshi Bhagat, Deepali Sharma, and Ajay Kumar.
On the second day of Natrang Theatre Festival, play ‘Kasak’ will be presented by Natrang under the direction of Rahul Singh at 6 pm at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
