Natrang Jammu in association with Himalayan Education Mission Society, Rajouri showcased two shows of Balwant Thakur’s acclaimed biopic film ‘Gulab Gatha’ at Himalayan Degree College and Himalayan Super School, Dangri,Rajouri. In his address Neeraj Kant, Secretary Natrang dwelt in detail about the making of the film ‘Gulab Gatha’ and shared both the aesthetic and technical aspects of the entire process of the making of ‘Gulab Gatha’ film production. For him it was not just like any other feature or documentary film but a big mission of exposing generations about the sacrifices and the contributions of Dogras in the creating the largest princely state of India. The major attraction in Rajouri about the film was the depiction of the creation of Baba Ghulam Shah shrine which was initiated by Maharaja Gulab Singh.
The film features an exclusive sequence showcasing how the Baba Ghulam Shah shrine came into being. On the occasion he thanked Dr. Karan Singh, Chairman of Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust for giving Natrang an important opportunity to produce and direct this film. ‘Gulab Gatha is a production of Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust and Natrang Jammu.
Narrating further he shared how the director of the film Balwant Thakur travelled places and it took Balwant Thakur and his team of scholars, creative people, designers, and actors over three years on research and the mobilisation of resources in creating this master-piece ever produced and created in Jammu & Kashmir.
