Jammu, AUG 28:
Adv. Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of J&K National Conference, sharply criticized the present administration for its failure to uplift the poor and downtrodden sections of society.
Speaking at a joining program at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan today, Rattan Lal Gupta expressed great disappointment over the government’s failure to provide adequate opportunities for these marginalized groups in terms of employment, education, and social security. He said that the BJP Govt has miserably failed to uplift the weaker sections in its ten years of rule in the country.
The senior NC leader highlighted the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to the socio-economic empowerment of the marginalized. He said “The downtrodden and the poor represent a significant section of our population that has been consistently deprived of basic necessities such as livelihood, education, property, and employment opportunities.” He emphasized that the National Conference has always been at the forefront of taking bold initiatives to elevate the status of these communities, providing them with equal opportunities for growth and development. Reflecting on the party’s historical contributions, Rattan Lal Gupta pointed to the landmark land reforms introduced by the National Conference, which were instrumental in empowering the weaker sections of society. “Our party has a rich legacy of serving the poor with sincerity and dedication, and we pledge to continue this mission by ensuring social justice and economic equality,” he affirmed.
The Provincial President also outlined the key promises made by the National Conference in its manifesto. “We are committed to providing Rs 5,000 in financial assistance to every household falling under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category,” he said. Other initiatives include the provision of 12 LPG cylinders annually for EWS families, free travel for women in public transport, enhanced marriage assistance, and an increase in the medical allowance for pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000. He further assured that the NC will strengthen the Public Distribution System to ensure better access to essential commodities like sugar and kerosene. In his vision for youth empowerment, he promised that if the National Conference is voted to power, the party will provide 1 lakh jobs to youth of Jammu and Kashmir and pass the J&K Youth Employment Generation Act within three months of forming the government.
Rattan Lal Gupta urged the people of J&K to vote and support the National Conference in the upcoming Assembly elections with an aim to equitable development of each region of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, a well known social activist and Ex-Servicemen Sardar Asha Singh joined the National Conference, pledging to work towards strengthening the party’s mission.
Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of J&K National Conference, warmly welcomed the newly joined member into the party fold. He expressed confidence that his decision to join the National Conference reflects the growing faith in the party’s vision and commitment to uplift the poor and downtrodden sections of society.
