Bimla Luthra, who was the Chief Guest of the convention, said that there is no doubt that the National Conference is the sole guarantor of people’s interests and for adding persistency, NC cadre has to maintain close contact with the people for knowing their problems and finding ways to resolve them on priority. She asserted that the women’s wing has always watered the values of the National Conference and is like a strong pillar which always stood by the party leadership to make it a force to reckon with in J&K.
Bimla Lutha said that National Conference has always stood for women rights and will continue to do the same as it is indigenous to the party’s norms and ethos. She castigated BJP leadership over its failure to contain inflation in the country. “Household budgets are dwindling under directionless policies of helmsmen but there is no one to rectify the err”, she said, adding that women are the worst sufferers of unprecedented rise in prices of essential commodities as every day they have to think of doing new compromises to sustain life, reflecting the failure of government. She said that under NC Government, there was 50 percent seats reserved for girl students in J&K but under the incumbents there is only rhetoric and nothing else.
Vijay Lochan, Chairman JKNC SC Cell, in his address, voiced concern over the plight of marginalized sections in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that they are facing step-motherly treatment under the current dispensation.
He stressed that only the National Conference can guarantee equitable development and justice for all, regardless of their background.
Lochan emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in supporting the leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, as they have consistently worked for the welfare of the people. He urged the public to come together and strengthen the hands of the Abdullahs in the forthcoming Assembly elections, reiterating the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to peace, prosperity, and inclusive growth in the region. By voting for the National Conference, he added, the people would ensure a better future, where every section of society receives its fair share of development and opportunities.
Sodagar Gupta and Rakesh Singh Raka said that National Conference is a secular party and that is the reason behind its popularity in all the nooks and corners of the union territory unlike BJP, which has meager presence in some pockets in only Jammu region with its leaders always fearing defeat in polls in those areas as well. They asked the party cadre to continue with the good work by remaining in touch with the people and also focus on problems of women folk in their areas to address them on priority.
