Senior State Vice President National Conference Women Wing Mrs Bimla Luthra today called for effective implementation of the schemes tailored for women empowerment, regretting these have received serious dent in the recent years due to lackadaisical approach of the administration. “The women empowerment is crucial for harmonious growth of the society”, Mrs Bimla Luthra said during the membership drive of the party here this afternoon. Mrs Luthra urged the women to come forward and play their important role in parliamentary democracy, which will eventually lead to their greater participation in decision making. She said the women were second to none which they have proven in every walk of life by dint of hard work and dedication.
Mrs Luthra enumerated the measures taken by the successive National Conference led governments from time to time in Jammu and Kashmir, saying to his has brought about a discernible transformation in their socio-economic conditions.
Various other leaders of the Women Wing also addressed the gathering and sought effective implementation of welfare schemes for women to ameliorate their lot.
