In a concerted effort for holistic development of the cadets, a captivating session on hydroponics _a modern solution to modern problems by Dr. Gurudev Chand, Professor and Chief Scientist at SKUAST-Jammu, who delivered an enlightening talk and conducted a demonstration for the NCC Cadets at NCC Training Academy, Nagrota. He highlighted the myriad benefits of terrace gardening in urban environments, where space constraints often limit traditional farming practices. He emphasized how terrace gardens can serve as a green oasis in concrete jungles, providing fresh produce while also enhancing the aesthetic appeal of buildings. He made the cadets delve deep into the fascinating world of hydroponics, a soil-less farming technique gaining popularity for its efficiency and resource conservation. The cadets were enthralled by the potential of hydroponics to revolutionize agriculture and address food security challenges. He also encouraged the cadets to embrace innovation and explore new avenues for agricultural productivity.The NCC cadets actively participated in the Interactive session reflecting keen interest in understanding the modern agricultural and their implications on environmental fronts. In addition an enthralling lecture cum demonstration on Self Defence Tenchniques which can be employed during day to day life was conducted by Lt Col Tajender, Adm Officer 4 J&K Bn NCC, wherein he shared simple but effective techniques which can be employed by girls as well as boys to safe guard themselves.
