NCC Group Commander Engages with Educational Institutes in Rajouri

Group Commander, NCC Jammu, Brig PS Cheema, SM, VSM, facilitating the Aim and Objectives of NCC visited the educational Institutes of border district of Rajouri. Accompanied by Col Naresh Kaushik, Commanding Officer 5 J&K BN NCC and other staff members the Group Commander’s visit was marked by impressive Guard of Honour by the cadets and welcome by the Principal.
During his visit, Brig Cheema acknowledged the dedication of Prof Tan wir Ahmed, ANO, honouring his 14 years of service to the NCC and a well-deserved promotion by pip ping him to the rank of Major. Interacting with NCC Cadets, the Group Commander emphasized the transformative role of NCC in nation building, urging cadets to not only excel personally but also share their knowledge and skills to benefit society at large.
Addressing the gathering, Brig Cheema highlighted the vast opportunities NCC offers for personal and professional growth, encouraging cadets to aim high in their careers while remaining grounded in their service to the community. He personally took time to guide three SSB aspirants, sharing invaluable insights. These interactions are likely to pay dividends in facilitating Cadets in stoking their quest for success.
Brig Cheema stressed the importance of innovation and resource utilisation, assuring cadets of the abundant support available from the 5 J&K Battalion NCC. The visit concluded with the soul elevating NCC Song.
Brig PS Cheema also visited the campus of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in the picturesque hills of Rajouri. He had detailed discussion with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof (Dr) Akbar Ma sood towards efforts to introduce NCC in the University in the near future. The VC showed full enthusiasm and energy in acknowledging the utility of the NCC as part of the curriculum and directed the faculty to initiate the process. This would be a great step in on boarding a prestigious educational institute of the region as part of NCC through which aspiring cadets can achieve maximum benefits.
