NCC Group Headquarters Jammu marked its Raising Day with fervour and pride at the NCC Academy Nagrota, embodying tradition and commitment to excellence. The event, held in customary fashion, witnessed a congregation of 160 Officers, Permanent Instructional Staff, Associate NCC Officers, and Cadets, all dedicated to shaping a future-ready youth. The occasion commenced with the 2 JK NCC Girls Battalion giving the Guard of Honour, despite the drizzle demonstrating resolve symbolizing the discipline and determination intrinsic to the NCC ethos. Following this, Group Commander Brig PS Cheema delivered an inspiring address, acknowledging the unwavering dedication and passion demonstrated by all stakeholders in their mission to nurture organised, trained and motivated youth and empower the cadets to become potential leaders and responsible citizens of the nation. Brig Cheema underscored the significance of such celebrations in fostering a sense of belonging and realigning organizational objectives with the ‘True-North.’ He applauded the collective efforts of the group that led to 20 Cadets being commissioned as officers in various esteemed services, enrolment of 300 plus Agniveers, 119 JK Police and a sizeable number in CAPF, and other govt jobs. The Group Commander lauded the remarkable contributions of NCC Cadets under the adept guidance of Associate NCC Officers and Permanent Instructional Staff, particularly highlighting their commendable performances in prestigious camps and competitions such as Thal Sena Camp, Republic Day Camp, National Integration Camps, and Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat camp. The efforts in the Social Service and Community Development programmes were also appreciated and he called upon the NCC fraternity to engage the community to create a people’s movement around these activities. The address also included forward looking statements about the projects, plans and sustained endeavours in upgrading the NCC Training Academy to a world class training institute. Encouraging all members to uphold the spirit of triumph and resilience, Brig Cheema urged them to maintain the ‘Victorious Will’ in all endeavours.
He reiterated the directives from the DG NCC including Key Result Areas of empowering cadets to become potential leaders and responsible citizens, focus on training for SSB & Agniveers as well as contemporary training being initiated as part of EBSB Kaushal Camps involving Ideas & Innovation, Interaction with scientists of ISRO & DRDO, Seminars on Developed India/Viksit Bharat and Drone training. The instructions of Additional Director General, Maj Gen RK Sachdeva, on involvement of all training staff in the institutional training, refreshments distribution, maintaining Talent Hunt registers, planting of one tree and nurturing by each NCC Cadet, induction of AR/VR Simulators and renewed focus on Excellence & Innovation was impressed upon for all.
