Nami Dogri Sanstha (Regd.) Jammu honoured Thakur Dhian Singh Langeh Ji , a Versatile and Prolific Dogri Poet and Writer and recipient of Sahitya Academy and Bal Sahitya Awards , at his village Batehra . His seventy years of literary journey to enrich Dogri
Literature was lauded . He was honoured with a Sanstha Memento , Shawl and a Citation dedicated to his pioneer work to preserve , revive and propagate “Rutt-Rahdde” festival of Duggar and his Thirty Eight Years of focussed and persistent efforts in this mission created significant impact . His efforts to promote Dogri “Bhaakh” were also appreciated.
Post Graduate in history , Political Science , B.Ed and Honours in Dogri Literature joined teaching profession and retired as District Education Officer .
As trade unionist he has also dedicated his life for the rights of low paid employees , labour and poor strata of the society . He has penned more than Twenty Five Books in Dogri Literature on Poetry, Drama , Essays , Gazals and Haiku poetry which is his specialised field . His contributions to promote , preserve and document Dogri literature is commendable .
Since the “Rutt-Rahdde” festival is going on , the NDS team accompanied him to the locations where girls of Batehra and adjoining villages have planted “Rahdde” and decorated these with rangoli comprising seven natural colours contained in a “Satbanna” a special container of colours .
The team also interacted with the writer , the girls and women folk participating in the festival . Smt. Lajwanti Devi and her associates presented traditional folk songs pertaining to the festival . The team was served with “Kiyurs and Desi Mangoes” as refreshment
