Jammu, Sep 17:
Announcing to field candidates in all 75 wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation in the upcoming urban local bodies polls, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today appealed various sections of society particularly the youth, students, the intelligentsia, traders, empl oyees to vote and support NPP in the said elections to uphold Dogra pride and honour.
He said that having experimented with BJP, Congress, NC and PDP and given them ample opportunities to prove their concern for Jammu, the people of Dogra land were an extremely demoralized lot today. With Congress having receded into the oblivion during the last four years, the role of BJP had disappointed the people of Jammu to the extent that their faith in the political system had been largely shattered, he maintained. He claimed that people were now eagerly looking forward towards Pant hers Party which provided the only ray of hope for the highly marginalized and incarcerated Dogra land.
He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Speaking to media persons, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that it was for the first time that Panthers Party had decided to contest all the seats of corporations in JMC Jammu in view of the peoples’ requests pouring in on day to day basis from various wards and tremendous response being shown by the urban electorates who were coming forward as volunteers in huge numbers to support the party.
He said that NPP had announced calendar of public meetings to be held in various wards with alternate teams going for door to door campaign to highlight the struggle of the party for the cause of Jammu.
It has been a kind of 24×7 struggle during the last four years with NPP vociferously agitating and relentlessly fighting for the issues of Dogras in Jammu, Kashmir as well as in New Delhi, said Harsh while appealing the members of social organizations and civil society of Jammu to support NPP irrespective of their erstwhile political affiliations.
“Panthers Party has the courage and conviction to fight for Jammu and to give it effective leadership.
We have always pursued value based politics and stuck to our guns ever since the launch of the Panthers Party in 1982 as against the political toddlers and demagogues who played the politics of opportunism for their shallow, selfish motives. Gives us one chance to prove our worth, our sincerity for the cause of Dogras and to restore the pristine glory and honour of Dogra land. We shall surely overcome”, maintained Mr. Singh.
