NGO Anti Crime Meets SDPO RS Pura to Discuss Measures Against Drug Menace

In a concerted effort to address the growing concerns of drug abuse and criminal activities in the region, the NGO Anti-Crime held a meeting with the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of R.S. Pura, Mr. Gurmeet Singh (JKPS). The meeting, conducted under the supervision of the NGO’s Chairman, Sham Lal Gupta, focused on the rising drug menace and the collective measures needed to combat such illicit activities.
The delegation included State President of the NGO, Sahil Gupta, along with ASI Naresh Digra, Rakesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Ratan Lal, Rohit Kumar and several other team members.
They expressed their concerns regarding the increasing prevalence of drug-related issues in the region and highlighted the adverse effects these activities have on society, particularly on the youth.
During the discussion, the NGO representatives appreciated the efforts of the police in tackling crime and assured their full cooperation in raising awareness and mobilizing local support to curb these threats. They emphasized the need for stringent measures to control drug peddling and other criminal activities in the area. The members also discussed the importance of strengthening community engagement programs to educate young individuals about the dangers of drug abuse.
SDPO Gurmeet Singh welcomed the initiative taken by the NGO and acknowledged the significance of community participation in crime prevention. He stressed the need for a collaborative approach, urging citizens and social organizations to work hand in hand with law enforcement agencies. He assured the delegation that the police are committed to taking strict action against those involved in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
The NGO team further proposed awareness campaigns, rehabilitation programs, and counseling sessions to prevent vulnerable individuals from falling into the trap of substance abuse. They also pledged to support law enforcement in identifying and reporting any suspicious activities in the region.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from both sides to work together in creating a safer and drug-free society, ensuring that the youth stay on the right path and contribute positively to the community.
