NHPC Limited in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Katra organized a Free Eye Check-up, Mammography Screening and Gynaecology Camp in the premises of NHPC Regional Office at Narwal, Jammu with an initiative to reach out the needy people especially women folk to screen them for ophthalmic diseases and breast cancer and educate them on early detection of any serious complicacy.
The Camp was inaugurated by Sh. Chander Mohan, Executive Director NHPC Region-J&K. Sh. S. Tirkey, Chief (HR), Medical Team from Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Katra, Dr. Shally Kandhari, Opthalmologist, Dr.Sheemu Shoukat, Gynaecologist, Dr. Pooja Gupta, Dy. CMO NHPC, Sr. Officers and employees of NHPC were also present on the occasion. A large number of employees and their dependents marked their presence in the camp. Sh. Chander Mohan thanked Medical fraternity of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super speciality Hospital, Katra for collaborating with NHPC for the noble cause. Speaking on the occasion, he said that God has given the precious gift of eyes to all of us without which this world is incomplete.
Hence each one of us should take preventive measures for protecting our eyes. Dr. Shally Kandhari, ophthalmologist laid emphasis on the importance of vision in day to day life and gave some valuable tips while screening the eye related refractive problems of the eye patients.
About 24 females and their dependents benefitted from the mammography Screening Camp while 20 of them were checked for Gynaecological related problems. Eye check-up for 96 employees and their dependents was done and regular follow up was advised to those patients requiring remedial measures concerning their vision.
The Super Narayana Hospital conducted the mammography screening camp in a specially designed mobile breast cancer screening bus equipped fully with Mammography unit.
