Reiterating BJP’s resolve on making India one of the cleanest and the healthiest nations of the world, State BJP General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi on Thursday said that his party will not make any compromise as far as the missions Swachh Bharat and Swasth Bharat are concerned.
The senior BJP leader said this while interacting with Basketball players of Jammu region who called on him to discuss the issue of shifting of Basketball courts from M.A Stadium to Shastri Nagar Playing Field by the J&K State Sports Council (SSC). The Basketball players has also submitted a memorandum to Sethi.
After listening to the plight of aggrieved players who were apprehensive regarding continuation of their practice at the new proposed location due to various reasons including constraint of distance, extra fare of public transport and remoteness on availability of public transport from places especially rural hamlets like Akhnoor, Nagrota, etc. Sethi expressed concern over SSC’s decision and assured the visiting players that some via media shall be chalked out soon so that no sportsperson of the region faces any difficulty in grooming his or her sporting skills. He said that BJP has a one point agenda that people of the nation remain healthy and live in hygienic and clean environs so there is no question that the young budding players will be left lurching for aforesaid facilities. He also assured that soon he will meet the concerned SSC officials and will find the best way out to ensure that no player is subjected to any hardship or inconvenience.
Considering the appeal of aforesaid players that M.A Stadium is the central place with best connectivity as far as public transport is concerned, he asked the players to be assured that administration will make an arrangement that will be suitable for one and all especially those who are coming from far off hamlets of Jammu region. He also extended best wishes to the players for their upcoming tournaments and anticipated that they will bring laurels for the State and their parents by their impeccable performance and unrelenting resolve.
