Speaking at a function at Sanjeevni Sharda Kendra in connection with Sharda Ashtami Member Parliament and Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Jugal Kishore Sharma said that after the abrogation of Article 370 the time has come to press for the commencement of pilgrimage to the world famous Sharda Teertha which at present is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.
Adding further he said that Sharda represents the highest pinnacle of the cultural essence of Indian ethos which had in the glorious past made India the Vishva Guru (world teacher). He further said that the changed political situation after the historical steps taken by Modi government on august 5, 2019 it is now natural that the pilgrimage to Sharda temple is started again. He lauded the role of the displaced community of Kashmiri Pundits in adding a new fervor to the sense of patriotism and said that it was an inspiration for all to see how a displaced community could survive when all odds were against it. He allayed the fear of any possibility of scattered settlement of displaced community and said that his party will ensure that under the new changed situation all fears of displaced community will be taken into consideration before taking any step towards the settlement of Kaskmiri displaced people in the valley.
The BJP MP promised that the government will definitely look into the preservation and protection of Temple and Shrines in the valley.
Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation, T K Bhat who was Guest of Honour also spoke on the function. He apprised about the steps being taken by the Relief Department in mitigating the hardships faced by the displaced community. He praised the role of Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra in promoting the cultural heritage of Kashmiri Hindues which essentially espouse the noble sentiments of humanism and peace. He informed that the process of relief and rehabilitation is being revamped so that succor is provided speedily to the needy.
Senior Trustee of the Kendra and noted social activist Hridey Nath pandita under lined the multifarious activities of the Kendra. He hoped that under the Modi -Shah Combine the time will be not so far when the displaced community will be back in their homeland.
On the occasion Sharda Puraskaar was given to Ishwar Ashram Trust, Ishbor Gupt Ganga , Srinagar for their concerted and historical efforts in promoting and preserving the great non dualist Kashmir Shaiva philosophy.
Two books, one book titled Sharda Gyan Arjan-2019 compiled by the Vidyarthi Vibag (Students ‘wing) of the Kendra and the other book titled Some Places of Religious Heritage in Kashmir compiled by the content generation team of the Kendra were released.
Brilliant students of the community who had cracked the KAS exams this year namely Amrita Bhan and Sachin Bali were also felicitated on the occasion.
Earlier, General Secretary of the Kendra Dwarika Nath Raina welcomed the guests.
The mahila wing of the Yog class of the Kendra presented soul -stirring Bhajhan on the occasion. The compiler of Sharda Sahastranaam , Swami Sacchcidanand Puri also graced the function.
The proceedings of the well attended programme were conducted by social activist, Maharaj Krishen Bhat. Annual Sharda Yagnya was performed on the occasion after puran aahuti, prasaad was also distributed .
