HMD Global, the company which holds the license to manufacture Nokia smartphones, has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for its budget smartphone — Nokia 3.
With Android Oreo on the Nokia 3, users can enjoy the latest features exactly as Google intended, including Picture-in-Picture mode and 60 new emojis to express yourself better, all at an affordable price point. Android Instant Apps declutter your already pure Android experience further while helping the Nokia 3’s optimised battery last even longer by limiting background app use.
Along with this, the Nokia 3 will also receive the latest security patch.
To recall, the Nokia 3 is selling at Rs 7,800. The smartphone was launched in India last year along with the Nokia 6 and Nokia 5. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The Nokia 3 comes with 16GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB by adding a microSD card.
The smartphone was launched with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box and it has now started receiving Android Oreo update. Measuring143.4×71.4×8.4mm, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display with 720×1280 pixel resolution.
The Nokia 3 packs an 8MP camera both at the front as well as the back. Both the cameras are autofocus with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS as connectivity options and is backed by a 2630mAh battery.
This is the fourth Nokia smartphone to receive Android Oreo update. The company has already rolled out Android Oreo for Nokia 8, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 smartphones.
