Alleging complete deprivation and neglect of Ramnagar constituency in the erstwhile BJP-PDP rule, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister said that not a single new scheme was sanctioned for Ramnagar during the aforesaid period adversely impacting upon the developmental momentum created in the constituency prior to elections. He said that with hardly any development activity discernible on the ground, the constituency was pushed to terminal decline as never seen before. Apart, the economy of the area received a serious setback with the working and labour class being the worst afflicted due to economic slowdown, said Singh. He was addressing huge public meetings in villages Bainsta, Thanda Paani and Dalia in Ramnagar constituency today.
Accusing the concerned authorities and politicians of failure in addressing the development needs of the area, Mr. Harsh Dev said that the period between 2015 and November 2018 shall be remembered as the darkest chapter in the history of Ramnagar. He regretted that once a leader in development, the constituency was relegated to the position of tail ender with its genuine development issues ignored by all and sundry. He said that even the projects sanctioned prior to elections failed to take off thus depriving the local public of the benefits envisaged for them under the said schemes. Making particular mention of the 27 PMGSY roads sanctioned in 2013-14 at a cost of around Rs. 400 crores, Mr. Singh regretted that majority of the said projects were in limbo with no action whatsoever having been taken to commence work on the same thus exhibiting the height of red tape and utter lack of concern. Likewise, he regretted the abandonment of work over university satellite campus after elections despite 90% of the construction work having been completed prior to December 2014. Same was the fate of Ramnagar Degree College hostel which was also left half done and construction work stopped midway with not a single penny released after 2014 said Singh. He further deplored the non initiation of work over Krishi Vigyan Kendera (KVK) approved in village Marta under the aegis of Agricultural University at a whopping cost of Rs. 15 crore despite 400 kanals of land having been provided for the said project in 2013 itself. Similarly the ITI institute approved in village Kirmoo, Ramnagar also met the same fate with no action having been taken during the last four years to initiate work three upon, he regretted.
