Ramban Police today claimed to have achieved a major sucess after apprehending the criminal involved in number of snating cases. while addressing a press conference here today, SSP Ramban Mohan Lal stated that in the month of April this year Rs.Six lakh were snached from a business man who was on his way towards his residence in the Bhanihal area. he further stated that after the incident took place concerned police swung into action and activated its cells and after very short time they got some clues and with the hard work and efficiency the police seluthes caught the hold on an inter – state gang who were involve in such cases from last few months.
Ramban Police have achieved a major success after busting the gang of interstate snatchers and number of FIR,s were solved upon their arrest, SSP added.
According to SSP, On.23-04-2018 a written complaint was lodged by one Tariq Ahmed Mir S/O Asadullah Mir R/O Gund adalkote Tehsil Banihal to the effect that he runs a whole sale Kiryana shop at Nagbal Banihal. On 23-04-2018 when he had closed the shop and was heading towards home, 04 youths in an ALTO-K10 stopped and snatched his bag containing 5,97,310. on receipt of this application case FIR No.56/2018 U/S 382/34/Rpc was registered and investigation started.

He said during the course of investigation CCTV Footage, CDR,s Call details and Dump data was obtained and was examined thoroughly and various suspects from across the valley were lifted and were interrogated. During the course of investigation. One suspect namely Sajad Ahmed S/O Mohd Ramzan Parry R/O Malikpura Trigam Tehsil Bandaipura broke down and confessed that he along with other accused namely.1.Sayed Muzafar S/O Muzafar Shah @ Zaffar Supari .2.Ashaq Hussain S/O Mohd Asgar Sofi .3.Mohd Ibrahim Rather S/O Ab Rehman Rather all R/O Yakhmanpura Pathan Distt Baramula had snatched the bag and had distributed the money in equal shares among themselves.
He said special teams were deputed to Kashmir valley to apprehended the rest of the accused.
On.25-05-2018 all the remaining 03 accused were arrested and the snatched money worth Rs.5,97,310/= were recovered from their possession .During the interrogation of accused it came to fore that this gang of snatchers has committed a Robbery at Pattan Distt Baramulla also and had decamped with 450 gms gold and rupees 130000/= in cash.case Fir No.87/2018 U/S 392/Rpc stands registered at P/S Pattan.
It is pertinent to mention that Zafar Supari and his gang are notorious criminals and are wanted in as mony as fourteen FIR,s across the Valley.Zafar Sopari is also a car Jacker and that angle is also being looked into, as a number of LMV,s have been stolen from the National Highway-44.Further investigation is going on more recoveries are likely.
The arrest were made by Insp Aejaz Ahmed Wani SHO P/S Banihal and SI Shamim Ahmed under the Supervision of SDPO Banihal Shri Sajad Sarwar and Addl S.P Ramban Shri Sanjay Prihar. The whole operation was monitored by SSP Ramban Mohan Lal .
