Asserting that there was a nationwide trend to strengthen the regional parties in local elections, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister today appealed the people to support Panthers Party which was the lone recognized political party of dogra land. He said that out of the only three recognized political parties at state level by the ECI in J&K, the two others namely NC and PDP were Kashmir centric with Panthers Party alone fighting for the marginalized Jammu region and seeking equitable treatment to both regions without any fear, favour or bias. He said that with BJP having fallen from grace and failed to fulfil the aspirations of the people, it was regional parties alone that could meet the expectations of the masses at local levels and mitigate their sufferings. He said that NPP had proved time and again that it alone could navigate the people of Jammu region who stood cheated and betrayed by BJP despite massive, overwhelming mandate given to it. He was addressing public meetings in various villages including Baryalta and Sunal in Majalta Tehsil today.
Saluting the electorates of Delhi for refusing to succumb to politics of money power and riveting rhetoric, Mr. Singh said that the landslide victory of AAP was an eye-opener for a narcissistically pleased and highly ascendant BJP whose only agenda appeared to be to capture power by hook or crook. He said that gigantic victory of AAP in Delhi elections is a moment of re-defining Indian politics and re-inventing democracy wherein the regional parties have come in prominence in state elections. “The AAP delivered on the ground and got re-elected. The NPP can assure you of still better performance. We can outperform the AAP in governance if given a chance in J&K. We have proved our sincerity and commitment for peoples cause both inside as well as outside the legislature,” roared Singh. He revealed that during his short stint as Education Minister, he had opened around eleven thousand schools all across the state, opened 22 Degree Colleges, appointed 35,000 RETs in the most transparent manner, provided promotions to 22,000 teaching and non teaching staff of Education Deptt who were stagnating for several years, introduced vocational, Job oriented courses in colleges, started PG courses in Degree Colleges, established satellite campuses of universities at District level besides several other reforms which were acknowledged across the country.
Mr. Singh said that during the past five years, the Panthers Party vociferously fought for safeguarding the interests of various sections of society including unemployed youth, farmers, traders, general masses, Students, SCs, STs, OBCs, border dwellers, refugees and govt employees including DRWs, Contractuals besides others. “We held more than 450 protests highlighting the grievances of various aspirational groups with around 54 such protest demonstrations organized by the party in Delhi outside Parliament, at Jantar-Mantar, outside Union Home Ministry and infront of Pakistan High Commission. He said that when all other political parties had disappeared into the oblivion after State’s re-organization, it was the intrepid Panthers alone who stood firm like a rock and resisted all authoritarian moves of the govt despite being harassed and persecuted. “We have the will as well as the capacity. Support us for a better Tomorrow”, asserted Singh.
In the meanwhile around 50 youth of Jammu and its vicinity Joined NPP assuring full support to the crusade of party leadership fighting for Justice to varied sections of society.
