Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron & Founder of J&K National Panthers Party & Former Legislator welcomed the dissolution of J&K Assembly by J&K Governor, Shri Satya Pal Malik which was the highly genuine demand of the people of all the three regions of the state, Ladakh, Kashmir Valley and Jammu province. He was addressing media persons at NPP Hqrs, New Delhi. Prof.Bhim Singh declared that the volunteers of Panthers Party are celebrating this victory of the people all over the state with a strong urge that the Governor should appoint Delimitation Commission so that the regional disparity shall be removed and all the reserved categories including Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes shall get appropriate reservation in the State Assembly. He said that the Delimitation Commission should re-fix the number of seats in all the three regions according to the mandate of the Constitution ensuring just number of seats in each region.
NPP Supremo said that there has been no delimitation since 1996 when the mandate of the Constitution provides delimitation after gap of 10 years. The Gujjar, Bakerwal and Gaddies have not been granted any reservation of Assembly seats ever since this fraternity was granted Scheduled Tribe Status.
He said that the JKNPP has been fighting for the just causes of the people of the three regions and shall continue this democratic battle with dignity and pride seeking justice for all. He said that J&K acceded to the Union of India like other states in 1947 yet the citizens of India in J&K have not been granted Fundamental Rights. He demanded entire Chapter on Fundamental Rights (Chapter-III of Indian Constitution) to be extended to the entire State of J&K as it has been done in respect of all the citizens of India in the rest of country. This is discrimination with citizens of India residing in J&K.
He strongly appealed all political groups and sections of the people in J&K including the activists and leadership of the Hurriyat Conference to get ready to participate in the next Assembly election so that the corrupt and opportunist leadership shall be defeated once for all. He also appealed to the younger generation to join the movement for democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights for all the citizens of India residing in J&K so that justice shall flow to every home, nay, to every door in the entire state of J&K as it is available to all the citizens of India in the rest of the country. He also demanded release of all political prisoners under Public Safety Act detained by the Govt. of India. So that freedom, liberty and rule of law shall knock every door in Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu province.
