It was yet another day of fascinating cricket that was witnessed on the third day of the POWERGRID Inter Regional Cricket Tournament 2024. Teams fought to their level best to achieve the honours Today six matches were played in three grounds.NR-I, CC and ER-II qualified for Semi-Finals today. NR-II had already qualified for the semifinals. The Semi-finals shall be played tomorrow at MA stadium and University Grounds. In the semifinals to be played at MA stadium, CC will clash with NR-I and at University Grounds, hosts NR-II will clash with ER-II. The details of the six matches played today is as under:
WR-I defeatedSR-II by 84 runs. Batting first WR-I scored 188/8 in their stipulated 20 overs. In reply SR-II managed to score only104/8 in their 20 overs. ShrikantRaspelli of WR-I who scoredfirst century of the tournament , 109*(51) was declared man of the match.WR-II defeated NER twice in the day in their league matches . In the first match Batting first WR-II scored 174/6(20.0).NER scored 153/4 in 20 overs. Vikas Chowdhary of WR-II who scored 81 runs was declared Man of the Match.And in the second match WR-II batting first scored 130/8(15) in response to which, NER could score only 118/9 in 15 overs. Sachin Singh of WR-II was declared Man of the Match.CC trounced NR-III by 107runs . Batting first CC Scored 188 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. And then bundled out NR-III on 81 runs in 12.3 overs. Mukesh Bhakar of CC who scored 53 runs and took 3wickets was declared man of the match.NR -I defeated ER-II by 5 wickets . Batting first ER-II Scored116/8 in 20 overs. In response to which NR-I reached the target in 17.4 over losing 5 wickets. Ramesh Bishnoi of NR-I took 3wickets was declared man of the match.SR-I defeated ER-I Batting first SR-I scored 165/5 in 20 overs.ER-I gave some nervous moments to SR-I but ultimately SR-I Managed to restrict ER-I to 152/5 in 20 overs.
