Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Jammu –Kashmir and Ladakh, Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Govt. of India in coordination with NSS has organized State Level Youth Parliament Festival 2021 today on virtual mode. The main objectives of the programme were to hear the voice of youth in the age group of 18-25 who were allowed to vote but cannot stand as candidate for election. With motive to encourage the youth and to raise public issues related topics to understand the common man’s point through their opinions and to express it in an articulate manners.
To develop and understanding in them that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively and document their opinions on vision of New India in 2022. Today 44 participants hailing from Youth Clubs & Mahila Mandal affiliated with NYKS and NSS from 20 Districts namely Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch , Udhampur, Reasi, Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara of J&K and two districts of Ladakh namely Leh and Kargil were participated in State Youth Parliament Festival.
The State Youth Parliament festival was inaugurated by Shri Shamsher Singh Manhas, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. While addressing the participants through virtual mode, Hon’ble MP stated that idea behind the organizing of District/ State and National level Youth Parliament Festival was of our beloved Hon’ble Prime Minster Shri Narinder Modi ji.He said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister shared the idea of youth becoming the voice of India in his Mann ki Baat address of 31st December, 2017, he desired to organize District Youth parliament at the time of the inaugural of the 22nd National Youth Festival on 12th January 2018.
