Observing Traffic Rules Can Prevent Road Accidents-Sham Sharma

A workshop on traffic awareness was organised by Mahant Rohit Shastri and Ashwani Suri today at Dewan Devi High School Rajpura Malhotra,Jammu.
In this workshop Former minister and BJP leader Sham Lal Sharma was chief guest and RTO Jammu Dhananter Singh was the guest of honour.
In this workshop the participants were made aware of the various traffic rules and it’s management.
Speaking on the occasion Sh Sharma said that the road accidents mainly occur due to violation of traffic rule.He said that the road accidents take place when the driver of the vehicle is in the state of intoxication,use of cell phones while driving,not fastening of seat belts and driving of two Wheeler without crash helmet.He further said that over loading of vehicles is also one of the factors of road accidents.
Sham said that it is has become Compulsory now to have regular check on such issues by the traffic department.He also urged the students to advice their guardians to follow the traffic rules strictly so that there is check on road accidents.He further said the present traffic rules are not much deterrent and it is felt that strict traffic rules should be framed so that the exemplary punishment is given to traffic violators.
Sharma emphasised upon school children work as ambassadors and spread awareness among the people regarding traffic rules and regulations.
During the programme, the RTO Jammu Dhananter Singh deliberated upon different road safety issues and highlighted the importance of the use of seat belt, helmet and measures for prevention of accidents etc.
He said it is our social and human responsibility to follow the traffic rules to avoid day to day accidents.
RTO Jammu stated that it is the moral responsibility of everyone living in society to spread message about the road safety measures.He also said that the minors were not allowed to run the vehicle those who are below 18 years.
At the end of the program school children’s pledge they will strictly follow traffic rules.
