OGW arrested in non-local cab driver attack case in Shopian

Srinagar, May 3 :
J&K Police said on Friday that it arrested an overground worker during the investigation into a last month’s attack on a non-local cab driver in the Shopian district of south Kashmir.
On April 9, the taxi driver, Paramjit Singh, a resident of Delhi, was fired upon in an apparent targeted attack by militants in Padpawan village of Shopian, injuring him critically. The attack took place at the Danish resort in Heerpura, which falls on Mughal Road and connects Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch districts of the Jammu region.
A joint team of police, the Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles, and the CRPF’s 14 battalion made a significant breakthrough in the case by arresting an OGW, the police said.
“With a significant development in the investigation of the Padpawan attack case at Danish Resorts, Shopian Police, along with 44RR and 14BN CRPF, have made a noteworthy breakthrough at Chotipora with the recovery of 06 AK 47 rounds, 2 cell phones, and one OGW,” Shopian Police said in a post on X.
