The PG Department of Commerce (SAP DRS-III), University of Jammu organized one day seminar on `e filling of Income Tax Return’ for the students of M. Com., PGDBRM, PGDAF, PGDMSM, scholars, staff and faculty. The expert faculty for the programme was CA. Vineet Kohli, who conducted two technical sessions by citing examples from real world. The programme was attended by around eighty participants.
In the first technical session, Mr. Kohli described the various concepts related to the income tax in a very comprehensive manner such as residential status, income from salary, income from house property, income from business gains & profession, income from other sources, deductions under 80C, 80D, 80G etc.
He explained the relevance & detailed procedure and deductions available to various types of assesses-Individual, HUF, Partnership firm and Joint stock companies.
In the second technical session, he dwelled on the requirements of e-filing, form no 26AS, challen created for advanced tax, date of filing returns, penalties under various sections and hands on with practical demonstration of e-filing. He also answered the queries of participants.
The welcome address was presented by Prof. Neetu Andotra, HOD and Dean Faculty of Business Studies and vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sunil Kumar. Among the faculty members who attended the lecture were Prof. Gurjeet Kaur, Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Dr. Tarsem Lal, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Harleen, Dr. Bodh Raj ,Dr Vaishali and Mr. Sandeep Patyal.
