OnePlus 6 launched in India: Key highlights

OnePlus 6 smartphone is finally in India. The company unveiled the much-awaited Android smartphone, claimed to be a ‘flagship killer’, at an event being held in Mumbai today. This is the third launch event that OnePlus held for the smartphone, after launch events in the UK and China. The smartphone succeeds the company’s OnePlus 5T smartphone that launched in December last year.
OnePlus 6 runs on Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor Snapdragon 845. The smartphone is the third device in the counry to run on Qulacomm’s top-end processor. The other two being Samsung’s this year flagship smartphones, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
The smartphone has a 6.28-inch Full-HD Amoled display with 19:9 screen ratio and 401ppi.
The smartphone comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM options. On internal storage front too, there are three options — 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Design
OnePlus 6 gets a glass design. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5, both at the front as well as at the back. On display, the smartphone has the much-famed Apple-iPhone X-like notch. This is essentially a cut-out at the top.OnePlus 6 comes in three colour options — Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Silk White.
Camera
For pictures, there’s dual-rear camera with 20MP and 16MP sensors. These are same as in the company’s previous-generation OnePlus 5T smartphone. The Sony image sensors have been, however, upgraded. In addition, the smartphone can now shoot 4K resolution videos at 60fps, along with 480fps slow motion videos at HD resolution. On the front, there is a 16MP sensor (Sony IMX371) with portrait mode features.
Supports Android P beta
OnePlus 6 is among the eleven smartphones that support the beta version of Google’s upcoming Android operating system, Android P. The beta will be available for download on the company’s website in the next few days. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based OxygenOS UI out-of-the-box.
