Pakistan trying to revive militancy in border districts of Jammu: Kesri

The recent spurt in militant activities in Kathua district of Jammu region indicates that Pakistan is trying to revive militancy in Jammu region. All this indicates that the militant handlers and some smaller outfits which are mostly their offshoots are trying to revive militancy in hilly districts,” said Kesri and added militant commanders operating in Kashmir were desperately trying to re-establish their network in Jammu Districts.
Addressing media persons during press conference in Jammu today , Kesri said Pakistan is changing its strategy to foment trouble in Jammu and Kashmir by sending highly trained and well-equipped terrorists Jammu region.
“While the trained terrorists appear to be using the Line of Control (LoC) to enter India and hide inside the forest, their commanders are also trying to establish their bases in Jammu region. The security forces have assessed that terrorists are using narco smugglers along with the LoC and up to Punjab to fund their activities and procuring weapons.
Kesri further said that Indian government, intelligence agencies and security forces are monitoring the shift in tactics by Pakistan and “it’s only a matter of time before a security strategy is in place to deal with this new threat,” Kesri said.Kesri strongly condemned Pakistan, saying it’s a nation that nurtures terrorism and disrupts peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He accused Pakistan of consistently attempting to destabilize the region through its proxies.
Kesri praised the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police for their bravery in eliminating terrorists. He expressed pride in the security forces, who risk their lives to protect the nation. Kesri also paid tribute to the martyred soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Kesri emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and no power can separate it from the country. He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to remain vigilant and work together with the security forces to eliminate terrorism. The press conference was attended by several other leaders, including Praveen Gupta, Sanjeev Kumar, Dheeraj Kumar, Balwant Saini and Darshana Devi.
