Urging upon the people to vote and support NPP in the coming elections, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia State President NPP said that the Party had proposed the name of its fire brand leader and party Chairman Harsh Dev Singh as its nominee for Lok Sabha elections from Udhampur-Doda parliamentary constituency. He said that interests of the state and of Jammu region in particular could well be safeguarded and promoted only by strong and effective leadership which could be provided by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh.
He said that demand for Party Chairman’s candidature for Lok Sabha had emanated from various assembly segments of District Kathua, Udhampur and erstwhile Doda District.
He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today alongwith Yash Paul Kundal State President Young Panthers.
Accusing the erstwhile parliamentarians from Jammu region of failure in appropriately projecting the cause of Dogras, Mr. Mankotia said that Jammu and its issues faced total eclipse in the parliament with none to project the aspirations of its people.
He said that repeated experimentation with traditional political parties including BJP and Congress had only caused disappointment amongst the people of the region. Not only had the region been divested in terms of its share in development and employment but the very culture and identity of the Dogras faced severest threat during the incumbency of the leaders of the said parties, said Mankotia.
He said that the present situation called for reposing faith in a leadership that could steer Jammu out of crisis and represent the sentiments of Dogras in proper perspective. That aggression and ferocity was the hallmark of Panthers alone, said Mankotia.
Mr. Yash Paul Kundal said that Jammu’s lone recognized regional party should be given a chance to represent its people in the Parliament.
He said that it was NPP alone which persistently and most vociferously raked up Jammu’s cause at all foras during the last four years. With not a single issue of Jammu left untouched, the Panthers Party vigorously fought for the rights of people and proved itself as true Champion of Jammu cause, said Kundal. He said that Mr. Harsh Dev having made unparalleled contributions in education sector besides being a strong, articulate leader was best choice for the people.
No other Dogra leader can match his acumen and charisma, said Mr. Yash Paul Kundal.
