Four wickets haul and then a brilliant unbeaten century from Paras Sharma today helped Sehwag Club sail into the semifinals of the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship of district Jammu at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today. In the first quarterfinal of the event, Sehwag Club defeated KC Sports Club (KCSC) by eight wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, KCSC could make 123 runs losing all their wickets in 28 overs. Dushyant remained top scorer with 37 runs while Sunil contributed 13. From Sehwag Club, Paras Sharma clinched four wickets and Aman Sharma took three.
Later, Sehwag Club chased the total rather easily making 129 runs for two wickets that too sparing
8.5 overs of their innings. Paras, who earlier bowled deadly spell, made it an easy sailing for his side
with his unbeaten ton. Paras’s century came off just 73 deliveries with the help of 12 boundaries and
three sixes. Vivrant was other main contributor to the total with 23 runs. From KCSC, Abhishant Khajuria and Devath shared the wickets. For his all round performance, Paras Sharma was declared man of the match. The quarterfinal was officiated by the technical penal including Ashok Singh and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires while Saleem ur Rehman was scorer.
KATHUA: Meanwhile, in an under-25 match of district Kathua, Rising Star Billawar defeated Rising
Star Nagri Parole by 66 runs. Batting first, Rising Star Billawar set a target of 155 runs losing all their wickets in 26.1 overs, which, in reply, Rising Star Nagri Parole could not chase and bowled out for 89 runs in just 13.5 overs. Sahil of the winning side was named man of the match. Sanjeev Singh and Dheeraj Abrol were umpires in this match while Kulbushan Singh maintained the scorebook.
