Bhubaneswar, July 8 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced an incentive of Rs. 15 lakh each for two young sportspersons from the state who have qualified to represent India in the Paris Olympics. Congratulating and wishing success to ace javelin thrower Kishore Jena and hockey star Amit Rohidas for representing the country in the Paris Olympics, Majhi said the incentives will inspire and encourage them to deliver their best performances, bringing glory to the country. The Chief Minister said both Jena and Rohidas have made their native place, as well as the state, proud by qualifying to participate in the Olympics, which he described as the “mahakumbha” event of sports. He added that the strong willpower, hard work, and dedication displayed by these two sportspersons will certainly inspire the young and budding talents in Odisha.The Chief Minister also emphasized that there is no dearth of sports personalities in Odisha, adding that the state government is committed to providing necessary infrastructure at the grassroots level and financial assistance to these sportspersons for their overall development and to help them realize their dreams.
