Former Minister, State Spokesperson, Prabhari BJP Mahila Morcha Jammu and Kashmir Priya Sethi, while giving Press conference at Jammu and accompanied by Rubina Akhter, Sakina Bano, Rafiya Malik and others welcomed the passing of the bill and congratulated the Modi led NDA at Centre for the passing of Triple Talaq Bill.
While briefing the media Priya Sethi said that it is like getting freedom for our Muslim sisters after 72 years of Independent India.
While congratulating the Modi led NDA who delivered the promise, she said that it is a major political win for the Narendra Modi government as Congress was opposing the bill just for the appeasement politics.
She added that what Congress couldn’t do over Six decades, Modi Did in half Decade only and this is the difference in Modi led government.
Priya Sethi who is the Prabhari of BJP Mahila Morcha added that this passing of bill is indeed a victory for millions of Muslim women and is a true testimony to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.
The Triple Talaq Bill yesterday cleared in Rajya Sabha hurdle where it was passed in the Rajya Sabha with 99 to 84 votes.
She said that it was the promise of Modi Govt for Women development that The Triple Talaq Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha and passed by the house last week where the government did not face much trouble and yesterday when it was passed in Rajya Sabha too ,We as a women feel it as is a historic day for Women of the country as Modi govt is committed for Dignity and respect of women of India and this is one more step for that.
She while replying to question said that Even Pakistan, Egypt, Syria Bangladesh which are Muslim majority Countries has considered it as Criminal offence.
Referring the case of Shah Bano she said that Even then PM Rajiv Gandhi was not seen with Muslim women that time because of mere politics gains where as Modi Govt delivered the promise within a short time irrespective of Politics as this was the historical wrong for Muslim women of the country .
Rubina Akhter, Sakina Bano, Rafiya Malik while welcoming jointly the passing of bill said that The bill has given Justice to Muslim women but unfortunately Congress and others didn’t do this in 72 years because of their appeasement politics.
