Mr Ranbir Singh Pathania, Spokesman J & K BJP called for harnessing the tourism potentiol of Dudu-Basantgarh area so as to improve the economic and social well being of populace here.
He said that this area has been bestowed with scenic beauty and has vast potentiol to be developed as a good hill station with large potentiol of adventure tourism.Moreover this area is a Botanist’s paradise with rich vegetation having medicinal/aesthetic/researchal value.
Later in the day Mr Pathania termed sanctioning and establishment of Degree Colleges at Dudu Basantgarh as a ‘giant leap’ in upliftment of educational scenario of this backward area which was left unattended by the previous govts as well as MLAs.
Mr Pathania was addressing a “meeting with local sarpanches and panches of the area” attended ‘where he was felicitated for getting two Degree Colleges sanctioned for the Ramnagar Assembly segment and that too with short tenure of less than three years as MLA.
Pertinently Degree College Dudu-Basantgarh was the age-old, long pending demands of these far flung areas, as many school going students especially females, had to leave their studies mid-way due to lack of access to higher education. People of the area attributed the achievement as a result of untiring hard work and painstaking efforts of Mr. Pathania that the issue was raised at various appropriate forums and this long pending demand was fulfilled with the issuance of formal orders and temporary site selection for establishment of Degree College at Dudu-Basantgarh.
Mr. Pathania elucidated that with active support from Union Govt. this college at Dudu Basantgarh shall be developed and nurtured as a ‘Model Degree College’ with all the modern facilities including well equipped laboratories, library, and computer labs.
Mr. Pathania had vociferously raised the issue during the Assembly sessions and DDB meetings too. He had also initiated a tehsil-wide signature campaign in support of the overweening public demand.
Later a delegation of Sarpanches and Panches felicitated Mr Pathania for getting a full fledged Degree College sanctioned in the hilly, backward, poverty-stricken area and expressed gratitude for the efforts he has put in regarding establishment of this degree college.
The delegation apprised that sanctioning of degree college has spread a wave of ecstasy among the people of the area, especially students’ community who will be benefitted from the College.
The delegation said that certain elements who have been crying hoarse and misleading public on the opening of degree college are now mum, as they and their stories have been exposed time and again.
Prominent among them included Shiv Charan, Mandal President, Basantgarh, Hans Raj Sarpanch Kewal Singh Sarpanch, Darshana Devi Sarpanch, Kasturi Lal Gupta Sarpanch, Yog Raj Sarpanch, Dav Raj Sarpanch, Bodh Raj Sarpanch, Sher Singh, Abdul Rehman, Behari Lal, Om Prakash, and other elected representatives and prominent people of the area.
