While concluding a three-day tour of various pockets of Udhampur district, Mr. Ranbir Singh Pathania, Spokesperson J & K BJP called upon the PWD and PMGSY deptt. to come up with qualitative completion of roads that even within the stipulated time periods. He said that unlimited funds in various centrally sponsored schemes/programmes have been pumped by Bharat Sarkar in J & K.
He was critical of Himalayan delay and critical gaps in quality control of a few works. There are roads which have ripped apart within the defect liability period. There are projects which are languishing for years and years with contractor agencies moving on snail’s pace. He expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work on Ramnagar to Dudu road where two projects u/CRF and two projects u/PMGSY upgradation have been sanctioned since long. He was again apprehensive on the work on the Rown to Ramnagar road which was built at an estimated cost of more than forty crores and has least changed the landscape of the road. Similarly he pointed out towards the pitiable condition of various roads including low quality work on Majalta to Narsingh Mandir Jansal road, Thatti to Pathwar road, (stage-I as well as stage-II), Lareh to Sumwal road, Tentha to Nallah Mallian road. He was again critical of sluggish execution of work on Udhampur to Ghordi road, Chenani to Sudh Mahadev road and Mantalai to Dudu road, Thial to Chountra Mata road.
He further called upon the authorities to immediately make efforts for restoring the public utilities. He said in the recent flash floods road channels, drinking water supplies and electricity lines have been suspended thereby forcing the people to live in a state of misery. Mr. Pathania was pretty vocal in seeking immediate restoration of these supplies so that people are able to have sigh of relief.
He was accompanied by Kuldeep Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Parkash Chand (Mandal Pardhans), DDC Councilors, Mr Jattu Ram, Mr Mool Raj & Rakesh Bodhi, BDC Chairmen from Ghordi & Basantgarh, Mrs Aarti Sharma & Kewal Parihar, Raj Gopal, Rajinder Sharma, Shounku Kharka and other prominent persons of the area.
