Stressing on people’s contribution in realizing development on ground, Taranjit Singh Tony, DDC member Suchetgarh said that participatory role of public is significant in changing development profile of a constituency.
The DDC member said this after inspecting works of lanes and drains, and a play ground at Village Baispur in Suchetgarh.
Tony said that his focus will remain on harnessing the immense potential of the constituency in sports, economic upliftment and tourism. “This cannot be achieved without continued pro-active support of the people, whose feedback has been hugely beneficial in taking up various issues with the concerned agencies,” he added.
The DDC member expressed gratitude to the Advisor to Lt Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan for development of play ground which was the long pending demand of the people of the area. He said that participation in sports can play an important and positive role in the health and development of children and youth.
“The significance of sports can be well gauged by looking into the fact that it prevents youths from indulging in drugs and substance abuse”, he said adding that there is dire need to create awareness on the ill effects of drug abuse and the damage it causes to families and the society as a whole. He appealed to the youth to shun the path of drugs and focus on their studies and channelize their energies towards nation building.
He emphasized that the cooperation of every section of the society is must to liberate younger generation from the clutches of drugs and other intoxicants.
The DDC member appealed to the Director of Rural Development Department to provide funds without any hurdle so that the development work of play ground will be completed in a time bound manner.
Sarpanch Shashi Kumar, Panch Darshan Kundal, Naib Sarpanch Rakesh Singh, Sarpanch Sham Lal Bhagat Village Chakroi; Sarpanch Village Talhar, Tilak Raj , Kasturi, Bittu Singh and J.E I.P Singh were also present.
