PG Departments Women win Kabaddi trophy

JAMMU, Sept 13:
The combined side of Post Graduate Departments (PG) of JU, lifted the inter-college women’s Kabaddi trophy outplaying Government College for Women (GCW) Parade by a margin of 24 (40-16) points in the final played at Gymnasium Hall on the JU Campus, here today.
Earlier, in the semifinals, GCW Parade defeated Government Degree College (GDC), Hiranagar in a close contest by three (33-30) points while PG Departments trounced GDC Ramnagar in a one-sided contest by 23 (28-05) points.
In the final and prize distribution function, Prof S K Pandita of Department of Geology was chief guest, who presented the title trophy to PG women. Dr Vijay Sehga of the Department of Law was special guest.
Earlier, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba briefed the guests about the event.
Among others present were Suman Lata (GCW Parade), Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Jai Bharat, Sanjeev Sharma and Sanjay Verma,
The competition officiated by the technical penal comprising Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Ankush Gupta, Dheeraj Sharma, Keshav Singh, Harpreet Singh, Amandeep Singh and Gagan Kumar.
