A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its Chairman Vikrant Kuthiala, met Ms Anoo Malhotra , Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu in her office chambers at Udhyog Bhawan, Jammu. Kuthiala apprised Director Industries & Commerce of the issues being faced by members of PHDCCI.
Shri Rakesh Wazir, Co-Chair PHDCCI Jammu Region, while welcoming the announcement of considering Hotel and Resorts at par with the Industries as far as payment of power tariff is concerned, requested that other benefits like interest subsidy and reimbursement of GST and income tax should also be considered for the hotel industry.
Shri Kuldeep Gupta, Co-Chair PHDCCI Jammu Region took up the issues faced by the Industrial units at Hira Nagar Industrial Area with regard to erratic power supply to the industrial units. He informed the Director Industries that the industrial unit set up in Industrial Area Hira Nagar are facing huge power crises and are almost at the edge of shutting down their operation.
Ms Malhotra gave a patient hearing and appreciated efforts of PHDCCI. She assured the delegation that the issues raised shall be looked into and redressed suitably.
Director Industries shared with the delegation brief snapshots of reforms undertaken by the Industries & Commerce Department under Ease of Doing Business. While elaborating she explained how J&K has adopted the Single Window Act 2018 where under the clearances from Power development department, JK State Pollution Control Board, Industries &Commerce, Fire, Forest, Drug Authority, Labour, Weight & Measures & HUDD departments are provided through a single portal. She also highlighted numerous reforms undertaken by Industries & Commerce Department for easing the approval process and reducing the regulatory burden. The industrial clearance by the above mentioned departments are provided in a time bound manner mandatorily through invest J&K portal.
Director Industries informed the delegation about the Incentives for setting up industry in the viz. 30% Capital Investment Incentive on Plant and Machinery, 3% interest Re-imbursement on working capital, 100% insurance premium re-imbursement, GST reimbursement, income tax reimbursement for 5 years, Incentives on transportation of only finished goods though railways, inland waterways or schedules airlines and employment incentive.
Vivek hardwaj and Aditya Vaid were also present from PHDCCI along with officials of Directorate Industries and Commerce.
