Today Thousands of Daily Wagers of PHE Department from different Districts of Jammu province converged in Press club Jammu and decided to march further towards Civil Secretariat Jammu to draw attention of State Administration towards their plight.
All J&K PHE ITI Trained, CP and Land Doner Worker Association President Tanveer Hussain said that the workers alleged that all the successive governments for the last over twenty years have all along adopted callous attitude towards the genuine demands of the workers regarding their regularization and payment of pending wages for years together. The government never fulfilled its commitment and continued to keep the fate of the workers in the lurch. The workers, facing lot of financial hardships to run their household as also to take proper care of their school going children, time and again approached the governments of the time but without any fruitful result despite the fact that all the essential services were being run by these workers with full devotion and dedication, he added.
It is unfortunate that the state administration presently headed by the Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik has also ignored our plight whereas we had great expectations from Governor but no positive step has been taken so far, said Tanveer Hussain, president of the association.
