POONCH, Oct 29:
Pintu Club lifted the District Poonch Volleyball Trophy beating the heavy weight in Shaheed Manjit Volleyball Club in straight sets of 25-14, 25-16 at Sports Stadium, here.
Pintu Club surprised otherwise tough side of Manjit Club, who were short of their talented stuff for the all important game.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav was chief guest while Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ramèsh Angral was guest of honour in the final and valedictory function.
Both the special guests interacted with the players emphasised on the hard work and dedication to attain the desired goals in life.
He also complimented the district volleyball association for extending the talented youth opportunities to perform and excel.
Prominent among others present were Additional SP, DYSP HQ Ajaz Bhat, DYSP DAR Sheezan Bhat, Krishan Lal ( secretary Poonch Volleyball Association), Pawan Kumar (PEL), Surinder Singh, Narinder Singh (both ZPEOs), Parvaiz Malik Afridi, Bal Krishan, Ram Prakash, Rajinder Singh, Ravinder Singh and Vijay Kumar.
In total, 12 teams, representing clubs and institutions participated in this championship.
