The meeting was conducted on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the Margdarshan Resolution of 1991. It discussed the current political scenario and the organizational issues in context of the recent successful visit of Panun Kashmir President to Malaysia and Indonesia to participate in the Asia-Pacific Hindu Conference and the Asia-Pacific Human Rights Summit.
Shri Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir said in his address that Panun Kashmir spearheaded the struggle of the displaced community of Kashmir all these three decades on the firm footing of the ideology of Margdarshan Resolution which has three important facets. The important three facets of the Resolution comprise the Background of the situation that necessitated the passing of the resolution, the declaration of the Kashmiri Pandit community that they shall not allow themselves to be subjugated under the servitude of the Muslim State and the Historic demand of the establishment of Homeland in Kashmir with Union Territory status.
This has emerged as the only viable political solution of the issue of ethnic cleansing and forced mass exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit community in Kashmir for the last three decades of exile.
As the indigenous people of the Kashmir valley, the Kashmiri Pandits have an inalienable right on the land of Kashmir where the ‘temples of their gods and the ashes of their ancestors’ lie.
Our recent presentation in the Asia-Pacific Hindu Conference at Bali-Indonesia dwelt on the issue of Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits and also focused on the struggle and situation of the Temples and Shrines of Kashmir.
Attention was invited to the human rights issues of the minority communities in the J&K state and details in context of the continuous efforts of Panun Kashmir at NHRC, UN, UNHRC, SHRC and other important levels were also shared with the delegates of the conference.
Shri Virender Raina, Charman, PAC said that the enormous struggle of Panun Kashmir has created a dedicated and committed cadre throughout and it is our bounden duty to pass on the baton of the struggle to the younger generation to carry forward the struggle in exile. In this connection, Panun Kashmir is organizing a brain-storming workshop at Jammu to interact with the youth and the activists of the Daughters of Panun Kashmir by the end of the current year.
The Kashmiri Pandit community and the other minorities of the State need to take the narrative of the Margdarshan Resolution to all levels in order to seek justice in an appropriate political manner.
