Corona Pandemic has shown us value of clean air which teaches us the indispensability of forest cover, stated J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul while he was planting saplings in a plantation drive held at Brig. Rajinder Singh Chowk, Jammu.
Dr. Akshay Sharma (JMC, Councillor Ward 08) held a Plantation drive at Brig. Rajinder Singh Chowk in presence of J&K BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul along with Former BJP Party President Sat Sharma CA and District President BJP Munish Khajuria. District General Secretary Adv. Rajesh Gupta, Secretary Raman Sharma, Adl. Treasurer Ajay Singh, Raghuveer, Ashok Salotra, Sharda, B.D Naryal, S. Surjeet Singh, Naresh Sharma and Naveen Sharma were also present on this occasion.
Ashok Kaul, while speaking on the occasion, said that during the troubled times of Corona Pandemic, the whole world has once again come nearer the nature as we have learned the value of clean air for our survival and fitness. He said that in this time we have been taught the indispensability of forest cover and appreciated the initiative started under the aegis of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). He stressed that plants are our lifeline as they release oxygen and we must encourage all to plant more of trees.
Sat Sharma, appreciated the efforts of Councillor Dr. Akshay Sharma for the initiative taken with the help of JMC. He said that besides giving us Oxygen, the tress also help in Conservation of water, provide Habitat for birds and animals, help in Climate Control, helps in Preservation of soil etc. and hence everyone of us must take pledge to plant and preserve trees.
Dr. Akshay Sharma, while giving details about the drive said that dozens of trees were planted, which primarily consisted of flowering plants as well as other at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Chowk with the help of JMC. He also thanked all for their participation in the plantation event.
