With having no alternate to have justice, indefinite Chain Dharna of PoK DPs that was launched on Dec 27, 2018 today entered into Day 7 under the banner of S. O. S. International – An organization for PoK Displaced Persons at its headquarter Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. R. S. Chib, Former Minister & Senior Congress Leader today visited the Chain Dharna site and extended his party support to the cause of PoK DPs. Rajiv Chuni presented memorandum to Mr. Chib regarding the demands of PoK DPs. Mr. Chib said that all the demands of PoK DPs are genuine and these should be accomplished by the present Government.
Today’s Chain Dharna led by Charan Singh accompanied by Swaran Singh, Gouri Shankar, Chuni Lal, Darshan Lal and Chuni Lal Badyal today sat on Chain Dharna to mark their resentment and anger. PoK DPs sat on Chain Dharna castigated the Government for keeping deaf ear towards their genuine demands and keeping the future of DPs in darkness by dillydallying the package and its components.
Speaking in Chain Dharna, Swaran Singh said that PoK DPs are sitting on Dharna in such biting cold and many of them are suffering with serious ailments for their rights but this shameless Government has not responded till today as this is 7th consecutive day of Chain Dharna as no one has time to meet us and mitigate our problems. He further said the PoK DPs from far flung areas are participating in protest as they have absolute faith on S. O. S. International that has been spearheading the mass movement for quite long time. He hailed the attempts of S. O. S. International Chairman Rajiv Chuni who have been in the pursuit of ensuring justice to PoK DPs.
Lambasting over the Government, Mr. Singh said that before elections BJP made various claims of resolving our issues but after elections, saffron party never talked about the same but on the contrary, it has left no stone unturned to demolish package and our demands. “PoK DPs that is quite a large vote bank voted BJP wholeheartedly in previous elections and due to which, some became Ministers in Centre and State Governments. We have made them kings and this is the obligation of them to look into the matter but unfortunately no one has ever talked about our cause that needs to be resolved now. The demands of PoK DPs would have been fulfilled if BJP had used half of its power as the power that is being utilized to demolish our mass movement. Instead of fulfilling our demands, BJP keeps on playing its dirty gimmicks continuously at its peak. S. O. S. International has got the specific information that BJP is trying hard to foil the cause of PoK DPs”, he added.
