Police have attached a double storey residential house and seized cash of Rs 14.52 lakh of a notorious drug peddler under Narco Act in Jammu Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police on Thursday said that in a major breakthrough against the drug menace, Police in Shopian attached a double-storey residential house worth Rs 22,17,827 and seized an amount of Rs. 14,52,100 belonging to a notorious drug peddler identified as Mudasir Ahmad Malik, Yawer Ahmad Malik & Shahid-ul-Islam Malik residents of Melhura Zainapora.
The action was taken under section 68-E read with 68-F(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive in the district.
The property attachment is linked to FIR No.54/ 2021 & 87/ 2023 of Police Station Zainapora and was executed in the presence of duly constituted Police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols.
“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Shopian police”, police said adding “the property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner”.
Police reaffirmed its commitment of combating the drug menace in the district.
