SRINAGAR, Dec 06 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified their investigation into FIR No. 65/2024 under Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, targeting a network accused of spreading false and provocative narratives aimed at inciting violence and disrupting public order.
As part of the probe, a statement issued by police said, they conducted a raid at the residence of Abdul Hamid Parry, son of Gulam Mohammad Parry, in Budshah Nagar, Natipora.
The raid, carried out with search warrants obtained from the NIA Court, resulted in the seizure of incriminating materials and electronic devices. Authorities have stated that further searches are planned at the residences of additional suspects linked to the alleged campaign of malicious propaganda.
The investigation follows similar actions last week when police raided locations in the Batamaloo and HMT areas. During these operations, two individuals were targeted: Obais Riyaz Dar, son of Riyaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Bonpora Batamaloo, and Sahil Ahmad Bhat, son of Noor Mohammad, from HMT Zainakot. Both have been identified as central figures in the creation and dissemination of unlawful narratives designed to provoke unrest.
As the investigation progresses, police have identified additional suspects and plan to carry out more raids in the coming days.
The authorities have called for public cooperation in maintaining peace and thwarting attempts to exploit social media for disruptive purposes.
