The three-day district Pooch Boxing Championship, organised by the J&K Amateur Boxing Association, concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav was chief guest while DySP (SO), Mohd Sadiq was guest of honour. The DDC encouraged the boxers and gave away the medals. He reiterated his promise of completing the boxing ring at Sports Stadium, here at the earliest. Among others present were Prem Prakash Luthra, Nirdosh Kumar, Iqbal Mir, Sabar Hussain Bitta. Bouts were officiated by the technical penal including Jugvinder Singh, Tushar, Ankit and Sarabjeet under the overall supervision of Boxing Coach of the J&K State Sports Council, Mushtaq Ahmed.
The Results (Finals): Boys: Sub-Junior U-14: 30 kg: Sameer bt Sohial. 30-32 kg: Tokeer bt Karan Raina. 32-34 kg: Mohd Afzal bt Mohd Farad. 36-38 kg: Mohsin bt Firdose. 40-42 kg: Sharib bt M Shoaib. Under-17 Boys: 46-49 kg: Amir bt Shariq. 57-60 kg: Asif ur Rehman bt I Choudhary. 60-63 kg: Zahir Khan bt Jameel Ahmed. Yasir bt Zafar.
Under-14 Girls: 40-42 kg: Maryam bt Farhana Riaz. 44-46 kg: Bal Kiran bt Anidha Bhat.
