RAJOURI, March 29:
Poonch XI won the Pir Panchal Premier Twenty20 League
Tournament after they defeated Rajouri XI by one wicket in the final played at
District Police Lines (DPL) grounds, here today.
The event held under Khelo India among teams, including two each from
Rajouri and Poonch.
Earlier, batting first, Rajouri XI made 196 for the loss of eight wickets. Asif Khan
and Rahul scored half centuries. From Poonch XI, Arif and Naveed took two
wickets each.
In reply, Poonch XI chased the target of 197 runs in 19.2 overs with one wicket
intact. Asif and Arif played brilliant innings of 60 runs each while Ankush
contributed 14-ball 48 runs. From Rajouri XI, Gubash and Shazaid took two
wickets each.
In the final and prize distribution function, DDC Rajouri, Ajaz Asad was the
chief guest, who along with guest of honour, SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas
presented the title trophies as also other individual prizes.
The winning team received a cash award of Rs 50,000 while runners-up got Rs
25,000. The man of the match in the final given away Rs 5,000 cash prize.
