Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies has been selected as India’s official entry for Oscars 2025. The film is eyeing a nomination in the Best Foreign Film category. Laapataa Ladies features Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan. Pratibha Ranta, who played Jaya Singh in the film, has called this feat an ‘invitation to international viewers’ to experience the brilliance of Indian cinema.Pratibha Ranta told News18 Showsha, “I’m beyond excited that ‘Lapataa Ladies’ has been chosen as India’s official entry to the Oscars!
