Jammu, Mar, 07:
Reminding PM Narendra Modi of his tall promises of providing corruption free system and good governance with a regular scrutiny of the assets of its Ministers and MLAs, the JKNPP today questioned the action taken, if any, against the delinquent corrupt leaders of BJP in the state. The party said in a press conference today at Party Headquarter Jammu that several reports of corruption have been appearing in newspapers regarding former BJP Ministers and MLAs who were knee deep in corruption with the govt turning a blind eye towards their highly scandalous acts of omissions and commissions.
Addressing the media persons, Mr. Rajesh Padgotra, Provincial President of the party said that dozens of complaints filed regarding the highly unethical and corrupt conduct of BJP MLA from Ramnagar Mr. R.S Pathania had been dis-regarded and put in cold storage, despite clinching evidence, by the govt and the investigating agencies only for the reason that he was a ruling party member. He regretted that in spite of documentary as well as videographed/recorded evidence of corrupt practices by the said Ex-MLA, the govt had failed to act thus blowing into smithereens the tall claims and pronouncements of PM and state govt on crushing the corrupt.
Questioning the overnight rise of Mr. R.S Pathania from rags to riches, Mr. Padgotra said that during elections the said BJP leader made repeated statements in public that he and his family had barely Rs. 15000/- (fifteen thousand) as cash and bank balance. He said that as a public figure does he not owe an explanation to the public as to how he raised a palatial Bunglow in Kail Majalta with the construction of another huge mansion by him adjacent to his new Bunglow which was also nearing completion. Is he not accountable for the disproportionate assets, moveable immoveable property raised by him during the past four years as MLA? Questioned Padgotra. He further revealed that state land measuring 22 kanals and 15 marlas was found to be in illegal possession of Mr. RS Pathania and his family in Kail Majalta as per the reply obtained through RTI. The said Ex-MLA had further regularized ten kanals of land under Roshni scheme besides acquiring huge immovable property including benami deals in Jammu city and suburbs with no ostensible sources of income. He further asked Mr. RS Pathania to come clear on the huge deoder timber used by him for the construction of his newly constructed residential mansion with huge public cry and complaints of smuggling of such conifer wood by him. He further said that RTI replies from Agriculture and Horticulture Deptt revealed that he had withdrawn subsides from the said Deptts notwithstanding that such subsides are meant for poor, BPL families.
